THE RESILIENT WORKING MUM, Stress Management, Time Management, Boundaries, Work Life Balance, Mom Guilt, Burnout, Resilience, Productivity
Are you a working mom who is stressed out by trying to find time to fit it all in? Do you wish that you could be more present with your children? Desperate for time to think about what you need but don’t ever get there? Financial pressure keeping you stuck in this cycle? I am thrilled that you are here! This is the podcast for working moms who are juggling it all. Build your resilience so that you can overcome the overwhelm and be more productive at work and present at home. Learn stress management strategies that will boost your productivity and decrease your stress so that you can balance a job you love and a family you love even more. Hey, I’m Charlotte - wellbeing coach, mum and wife who works because I love my job. I was living the chaotic, distracted life of working a full day, while also managing the emotional and mental load of being a mum - trying to make sure that everyone’s needs were met, while forgetting about my own. I was tired of feeling the ’mom guilt’ of having a job I love knowing that it took emotional energy away from my family. I finally realised that if I was going to enjoy my work and my journey of motherhood, I needed to set boundaries and make choices that would make me feel more in control, healthier and happier so that I could be the coach and the mum I wanted to be. I created a resilience plan that fits ME. A way of being that allows me to ride the waves of life with calm, peace and confidence so that I can focus better, be present and enjoy the moment while also finding some me time in amongst the noise. And I am ready to share it with you! If you’re ready to feel less stressed, be more organised and productive at work so you can be more present and patient at home and in the relationships that are most dear to you, then this podcast is for you! So, put away your laptop, close the bathroom door and let’s dig in!

Once the children are settled at school and the year is in full swing, we still have to get back into the swing of work if we have been out of it over the holidays. I found that my work took a bit of a backseat while I was getting everyone ready and into the new school year and now I am back at my desk and need to hit the ground running!
This can sometimes feel like a slog when we have hundreds of emails to reply to or things to catch up on. Or when we have been out of the routine for a while and need to get back into being engaged and productive. We can feel overwhelmed and like we need more time or we won't get it all done.
In this episode, I talk about what we can do to start the year off at work with a bang, settling and being organized, being productive and efficient so that we can close our laptops at the end of the day and do our other job of parenting and spousing (is that a word?!) well.

Connecting with someone is the foundation of any relationship. If you do not connect with someone, it is hard to keep that relationship going.
In the busy-ness of working and mothering life, there is little time to think about how we connect. Sometimes we do and sometimes we don’t and if we don’t, we don’t often take time to think about why not. This Christmas, I took some time to figure out why I was feeling disconnected from my husband. The realization I had and the conversation we had afterwards helped us make a change in how we approached one another and our roles as parents at home and leaders at work.
On this day before Valentine’s Day, or on any day, you might be feeling head over heels in love with your partner or you might be feeling far away from him and not sure how to bridge that gap. I hope that this episode will help you do that so that you can be more present in your relationship and in your life.

This is a busy season for working moms. After the holidays, we are flung into back-to-school activities with everything new whether it is a new class or a new school altogether, or just a new year after the festivities of the Christmas holidays!
It can be exhausting and this exhaustion can cause us to be impatient, irritable and generally not the way we want to be.
I followed the three steps I offer in this episode to get myself off the kitchen floor and to find joy in the juggle again, feeling energized and ready to do all the things that I have to and all those things that I love to do. Life felt easier, I had more energy and I didn't feel so overwhelmed and wiped out by the chaos.
I hope that if you follow these three steps, you will be able to start each day off – and end it – feeling on top and in control and excited about the year ahead.

If you are anything like me, resentment is a part of your life, even more so now that you are a mum trying to manage the mental and emotional load and fit everything in that needs to get done. It is a really hard emotion to put down and it can cause real chasms and break downs in relationships.
Today’s episode offers a new take on resentment that might allow you to be able to put it down, to take back the fork so that it can stop eating you up and you can start to bridge the gaps that have been created by the erosive emotion.
Feel more peaceful and at ease so that you can be more productive in your work and can give your family the attention that they need from you without feeling heavy and exhausted.

Feeling anxious is something that we have all experienced in varying degrees. But why do some people find certain situations anxiety provoking while others seem to manage them or even thrive in them? Why do some people get overwhelmed, lose focus and feel stressed when other can remain calm and peaceful and in control?
Today’s conversation takes a look at an equation that offers a different perspective on anxiety that might allow you to understand it a little bit better. This perspective might help you make changes to the way that you approach a situation so that you can feel less anxious and stressed, more confident and calm and able to focus on the tasks at hand without being distracted and flustered.

I think it is really useful to have a word for the year that keeps us aligned to our goals and can help to ground us when things get a little chaotic so that we can keep balanced and feel more in control.
This year, I have chosen a word that is going to remind me what I am doing with this podcast and as a working mum. It is a word that you, too, can use to make the work that you do at work and at home feel less onerous and heavy!
If you have a different word that you would like to share that is your grounding word, head over to my free Facebook group (https://bit.ly/managingmumcommunity) or find me on Instagram and let me know. I would love to hear some other words that I can add to my arson for 2024!

It is the beginning of a new year. And we all have a list of resolutions that we are going to keep THIS YEAR! We are going to be more organized. We are going to be more consistent with our eating/exercise/parenting strategy. We are going to stop shouting at the children so much. We are going to be more self-controlled. We are going to be healthier. We are going to find more balance and be less stressed.
The question is why it has been so hard to keep these resolutions up until now? And what can we do to make sure that we do keep them this year?
Today, our conversation focuses on what sabotages us and our attempts to succeed anywhere in our lives, let alone when it comes to our new years’ resolutions, whatever those may be! What sabotages our productivity? Or our work life balance? Why are we so easily distracted? Why can't we be more disciplined?
I offer an exercise that can help you to build the muscles that will allow you to stick to those decisions that you have made and to succeed in your goals in all the areas that you long to.

Struggling to lose weight? Wish you had more control of what you eat and how much you eat? Do you want to find a way of life that makes you feel clearer and cleaner and healthier in your body and in your mind? Longing to focus on your work and be more productive but there is so much noise in your head about what works and what doesn't?
I have always struggled with my weight and I have been on and off the diet roller coaster much of my life. It has been stressful and overwhelming. But since I started intermittent fasting, I have found it so much easier to manage my weight, feeling more in control and also able to enjoy the foods that I love. This episode talks about my experience with intermittent fasting and explains why it works, based on work my Dr Jason Fung.
It is not for everyone but this just gives you a brief outline and maybe an introduction to something that you can find out more about and try to see if it works for you too.
More information on Dr Jason Fung can be found at https://www.doctorjasonfung.com/. There are many informative videos by him on YouTube as well.

When the balls are all in the air and you feel overwhelmed and like you need more time, it is easy to drop the balls that appear to be not ‘as important’. These are generally the things that are the most important for us, the working mum, the things that keep us going and make us feel good as mums and as women.
I have three non-negotiables in my day that I know I need in order to maintain my work life balance. They make sure that I feel physically, mentally and emotionally healthy so that I can face the day. These three non-negotiables allow me to manage the juggle the best I can while finding some calm, peace and joy (and of course, balance) in it along the way.
Yours may well be different to mine so once you have listened, take some time to think about what you need to so that you can be productive at work and present with your family. What do you need to make a non-negotiable so that you can find ease and flow in your day, so that you can be more organized and focused and can get more done and can find that balance as a working mum?
