The Resilient Working Mum

A podcast for high-performing working mothers - and the organisations that rely on them - navigating pressure, performance, and the invisible load of modern work and life.

You might look like you’re coping on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, reactive, or constantly “on call” behind the scenes. This is where we make sense of that experience and change it.

The focus of this podcast is on the internal patterns shaping how you think, respond, and show up at work and at home.

I’m Charlotte Haggie, resilience specialist, coach, and working mum. I help high-achieving women build the capacity to stay steady under pressure so that they can think clearly, lead effectively, and be present in the moments that matter.

Inside this podcast, we move beyond surface-level solutions like time-management and organisation.

You’ll learn how to:
• stay focused and make clear decisions under pressure
• respond with intention
• build self-trust and emotional stability
• reduce the mental load that drains your energy
• sustain high performance over time

For leaders and organisations, these conversations offer insight into the drivers of burnout, disengagement, and retention risk in high-performing women, along with a clearer understanding of what supports long-term performance and wellbeing.

This is about developing the capacity to handle complexity, pressure, and responsibility with clarity, steadiness, and control.

How often have you ‘decided’ that today/this month/this year you are going to do something and you are going to stick to it?
And by lunch time or within a week or a month, you realise that you are doing exactly what you said you weren’t going to do or you are not doing what you said you were going to do?  You are not alone! Being consistent is hard for all of us and especially for us as working moms. But I want to tell you that it is NOT about willpower. It is not that you don’t have the willpower. And I also want to tell you that you CAN be consistent.

In this hugely insightful interview with Angela Buckley, we talk about her journey of working motherhood and how she has had a very successful career while also spending real quality time with and instilling in her son the values of leadership, including the importance of community.
It was truly an honour to share this time with someone who is so clearly capable and strong and able to be vulnerable in how she leads both herself and those around her. I believe that Angela visibly showcases the elements of resilience that can allow us to stand firm and steadfast in our roles as leader at home and in the workplace.
Angela holds a doctorate in Organizational Leadership. She focuses on the intersection of adult learning theory, cultural change, change management, and structural and systems development. Her leadership consulting focuses on mindset, grit, and positive reinforcement to influence change. Angela believes the first step in becoming a leader is to learn to lead yourself: You like yourself, you trust yourself, and you set boundaries for yourself. Once you have mastered the disciplines associated with like, trust, and boundaries, you are ready to start leading others.

Every working mom I have ever talked to or worked with has told me that she struggles with being present. She finds it hard to be with her children without thinking about all she has to do and she finds it difficult to focus on her work without being distracted by the endless list running through her mind.
Today, I am here to tell you that it is NOT your to do list that is keeping you from being present or focused. And that you CAN do something about the things that are distracting you and tearing you away from the places that you really want to be giving your full attention.
So listen in and take away some nuggets that can help you build better relationships and get better results today!

Life as a working mom is stressful. You have so much to do. You feel guilty for doing or not doing things. There are so many expectations on you and needs that you are trying to meet.
I have been there and have found myself in the spin that comes with feeling stressed and anxious all the time. This episode tells the story of how I moved from this place of overwhelm and exhaustion, feeling frustrated and stuck, to a place of calm and peace and confidence.
It has been a journey of learning, discovery and such joy and I am so excited to share it with you!

In this live coaching session, Amanda wanted some help figuring out how she could lose her temper less and could be more present with her children, giving them the attention they need and crave so that their cups can be filled.
I loved the intentionality of this session where she was vulnerable enough to get to know what blockages she had that were causing her to snap at her children or struggle to play with them without being drawn to the millions of things that needed doing.
As a result, she walked away with some useful take aways that can help her to build her resilience so that she can focus, be productive where she needs to be and then be fully present with her children.
Come and join Amanda and the other working mums that I support in building their resilience so that you too can find the peace and ease that we are all after!

When there are so many balls in the air, it is easy to feel like we are dropping some or not juggling them very well at all. As working moms, this can leave us feeling defeated and exhausted.
But there are things we can do so that we can feel like we are succeeding and so that we can enjoy this season with more calm, feeling confident in the way we are parenting and working and finding it all so much easier.

Oooh, the discomfort of mom guilt! What a thing! It can rule our lives so much that we would rather give up our own boundaries and our needs in order to avoid it.

This episode was a live that I did in my Facebook group which I would love to invite you to be a part of.  You can join here: bit.ly/managingmumcommunity

It gives you a new perspective on setting boundaries and saying no that I think might help you to let go of the guilt and start to get what you need so that you actually have the capacity to do the things you say yes to with focus, intentionality and most of all, joy!

'Hanger' is a term well known in our household.  As a working mum, it can be hard to remember to feed myself the right foods let alone the children!
When we don't feed our bodies properly, we experience a physiological shift that means that we cannot think clearly and thus, we do not behave the way that we want to.
This conversation with nutritionist and biokinesiologist Adi St George outlines 3 mistakes we make when it comes to how we feed our bodies. These mistakes can lead to challenges in how we think and behave, not only for ourselves but also for our children.  When we are fed correctly, we have so much more capacity to manage the day, whatever age we are!

I know that the mid year school holidays can cause huge stress and anxiety. I have felt it myself and I have heard numerous mums talking about it in various places. So if you have felt a bit of dread about this period, you are not alone!

I believe that there are ways that we can feel different about this time, however. Ways that, rather than leaving us depleted, irritable and snappy, can give us the energy to cope with all that it entails and to find some real joy in the precious time it gives us with our families.

Put them into practice and if you are struggling, book a call with me here: https://calendly.com/charlotte-haggie/quick-call-to-answer-your-questions. I want to help you find calm, peace and joy in not only the holidays but all year round as you mother, work and live this precious life you have!
