THE MANAGING MUM, Mom Stress, Time Management, Set Boundaries, Work Life Balance, Mom Guilt, Burnout

Are you a working mom who is stressed out by trying to find time to fit it all in? Do you wish that you could be more present with your children? Desperate for time to think about what you need but don’t ever get there? Financial pressure keeping you stuck in this cycle? I am thrilled that you are here! This is the podcast for moms who are managing it all. Build your resilience so that you can overcome the overwhelm and be more productive at work and present at home. Learn healthy habits that will boost your productivity and decrease your stress so that you can balance a job you love and a family you love even more. Hey, I’m Charlotte - wellbeing coach, mum and wife who works because I love my job. I was living the chaotic, distracted life of working a full day, while also managing the emotional and mental load of being a mum - trying to make sure that everyone’s needs were met, while forgetting about my own. I was tired of feeling the ’mom guilt’ of having a job I love knowing that it took emotional energy away from my family. I finally realised that if I was going to enjoy my work and my journey of motherhood, I needed to set boundaries and make choices that would make me feel more in control, healthier and happier so that I could be the coach and the mum I wanted to be. I created a resilience plan that fits ME. A way of being that allows me to ride the waves of life with calm, peace and confidence so that I can focus better, be present and enjoy the moment while also finding some me time in amongst the noise. And I am ready to share it with you! If you’re ready to feel less stressed, be more organised and productive at work so you can be more present at home and in the relationships that are most dear to you, then this podcast is for you! So, put away your laptop, close the bathroom door and let’s dig in!

Time is a finite thing and it can feel like it is slipping through our fingers. Have you ever found that there are times when you can get so much done that you suddenly have a bit of time to spare? If so, what was different about that situation?
I would imagine that you possibly were enjoying the things you were doing and so there were no other distracting thoughts running through your head. This episode looks at some of those thoughts that cause us to get distracted, be unproductive and end up overwhelmed by the to do list so that we end up longing for more time.
If you are a working mum who wants more time, who longs to be more productive and who wishes they could be more present, patient and calm with your children, listen in!

Sarah had been struggling to keep her patience with her toddler and her husband and found herself snapping at them.  Since becoming a mom and working on her business at the same time, she had lost sight of what she did to bring her joy and find her peace and she was looking for help in finding a way to be more patient and to remember what she loved to do.
In this live coaching session, we worked through the challenges Sarah was facing and how she could live her life less reactively.  She wanted to feel like things were easier and that when challenges came her way, they weren’t insurmountable and exhausting and didn’t cause her the tension that she found herself feeling in her shoulders.
Listen in to see how she got some ideas about how she could shift and feel less mentally tired and weary and more calm and at ease.

Calm is something I used to envy in other working mums, or even SAHM mums, that seemed to have it all together.  I might have looked calm on the outside but underneath it all, I was paddling furiously to keep myself afloat, I was exhausted and behind the scenes was chaos.
But I have learnt how to slow down, how to be calmer and more patient and I am sharing one great way I have done this with you today.
I hope that what you learn in this episode helps you to find some time for you as you become more productive and efficient and can then give your attention to the next task or to your family when the time comes. Put this practice into action and see if you notice a shift in your work life balance and how you are able to manage it all.

This episode is a fabulous conversation with Mahnaz Sharif all about boundaries and how setting boundaries can support our productivity and our wellbeing!
Mahnaz empowers Mums whose business dreams are buried under family needs. Most mums know the feeling of being sandwiched between what their family needs from them and the business they want to create.
With a degree in mathematics and 20 years of experience as an analyst, Mahnaz is a Mum of two teens and the Founder of the “Build with Boundaries Podcast” - her clients learn to work in harmony, and respect their time and energy so they can carve out time for them, their life, their family and their business!
Through overcoming her own challenges, Mahnaz developed the H.A.R.M.O.N.Y Blueprint crafted especially for Mums to avoid the ‘struggle with the juggle’. It’s not just about business but also about joy and real focus in both personal and professional life.

As a young girl, the thought of exercise made me feel exhausted, heavy and lethargic.  I would do everything I could not to exercise.
Little did I know that a few years later, I would be a rower, would be running half marathons and would be completing a half ironman.  My story is one that I think that we could possibly all relate to in some area of our lives. It might give you the motivation to shift some beliefs that are keeping you stuck, stopping you from setting boundaries, longing for some time for you, wishing that you could feel calmer and find more joy in your life.
I hope you enjoy it!

You are stressed and overwhelmed and just wish you had a moment for yourself.  The to do list goes on and on and you aren't sure when you are going to get it all done.  You snap at the children, want to cry and feel like you are going to break at any moment.
This episode looks at how this state of stress can lead to the fact that we have even less time and how that then perpetuates the cycle as we get more exhausted and feel more panicked and anxious.
But there is a way out! Emotional self-regulation strategies can support you so that you feel more in control and at ease and so that you have the energy to serve others and set boundaries so that you have some time just for you!

At the end of the day, do you find it really hard to close your laptop and stop thinking about the to do list and all the things that you didn’t get done? Do you feel drawn back to it and find yourself working after hours or unable to be present with your family or even yourself?
The overstimulation of all that is required of us during the day can leave us exhausted and on top of this, we find ourselves distracted and with not enough time. This makes it hard to close down at the end of the day and shift our focus to the other roles in our lives.
I have experienced this myself and have many clients who have found this a challenge for them so today, we are talking about some of the reasons we find this so difficult and how you can change your relationship with your work, your laptop and your to do list so you can be present in the other areas of your life and the relationships that you have outside of your working life.

We all long for more time.  Time to do the have tos and time to do the want tos! But it feels like there is never enough of this precious resource and we are running around trying to fit everything in while feeling flustered and exhausted.
Today, I offer three practical ways that you can take back your time so that you can get more done in the day and so that you can feel energized and on top of things.  You can stop feeling that mom guilt that happens when you still have things to do but know that they need you. When the to do list is as long as our arms, it is so easy to jump from task to task, suddenly remembering that something needs to be done or reacting to a request for something from one of the many people who have needs or expectations of us. We are distracted, there isn't enough time to fit everything in and we end up feeling guilty for not working or parenting properly.
When we are overstimulated by all the demands that are coming at us from outside, we carry a hidden stress that is heavy and we end up not having any time for the fun things in life.
The flustered, chaotic feeling that comes from jumping around from task to task is exhausting while the feeling of being in flow and getting things done is hugely invigorating and fills us with energy. In this episode, we look at the things that we can stop doing so that we can find that place of flow, of invigoration and energy that will allow us to be productive and get things done so that we can be present with our work and with our children when we close up our laptops at the end of the day.
