THE RESILIENT WORKING MUM, Stress Management, Time Management, Boundaries, Work Life Balance, Mom Guilt, Burnout, Resilience, Productivity

Are you a working mom who is stressed out by trying to find time to fit it all in? Do you wish that you could be more present with your children? Desperate for time to think about what you need but don’t ever get there? Financial pressure keeping you stuck in this cycle?

I am thrilled that you are here! This is the podcast for working moms who are juggling it all.

Build your resilience so that you can overcome the overwhelm and be more productive at work and present at home. Learn stress management strategies that will boost your productivity and decrease your stress so that you can balance a job you love and a family you love even more.

Hey, I’m Charlotte - resilience specialist, mum and wife who works because I love my job. I was living the chaotic, distracted life of working a full day, while also managing the emotional and mental load of being a mum - trying to make sure that everyone’s needs were met, while forgetting about my own.

I was tired of feeling the ’mom guilt’ of having a job I love knowing that it took emotional energy away from my family. I finally realised that if I was going to enjoy my work and my journey of motherhood, I needed to set boundaries and make choices that would make me feel more in control, healthier and happier so that I could be the coach and the mum I wanted to be.

I created a resilience plan that fits ME. A way of being that allows me to ride the waves of life with calm, peace and confidence so that I can focus better, be present and enjoy the moment while also finding some me time in amongst the noise. And I am ready to share it with you!

If you’re ready to feel less stressed, be more organised and productive at work so you can be more present and patient at home and in the relationships that are most dear to you, then this podcast is for you!

So, put away your laptop, close the bathroom door and let’s dig in!

On 9 June 2022, my two-year-old daughter was wheeled into theatre to undergo open heart surgery.  As I watched her prepare for the surgery and in the days following this ordeal, I was in awe of how she managed the whole process and it got me thinking about why she was able to do so with such calm and ease and peace.
It made me think about how we could live our lives more like this and so I offer my journey through this process and my learnings from this journey in today’s episode.

Do you find that you never have a chance to do the things that you love?  Or you actually can’t even remember what it was that you used to do that brought you joy? One of the biggest problems I have come across for working moms is finding ‘me-time’ or taking any time for ourselves if the time does come up or is offered to us. We end up out of balance, impatient and frustrated.
What I have learnt is how much better we are as moms, employees, managers and people when we are energised by doing things for ourselves or doing the things that make us happy.  So, today I offer 3 ways that you might be blocked from doing the things that bring you joy and three ways that you can find your way back to those things so that you can feel better.
When you feel better, you can be more organized, can focus better and be more productive and you can find the peace and ease that sometimes feels so hard to experience as a working mom!

Today, I had the great privilege of spending time with Shan Wright who lives in Indiana USA, a working mom of 4 and a registered nurse and wellness coach so we have a little bit in common!
Shan’s passion for holistic healing and wellness grew after her experience with postpartum anxiety. She now shares the solutions she uses for intentional and peaceful motherhood on the Top 3% globally ranked podcast, Holistic Moms.
In today’s episode, Shan tells us a bit about her journey from being a perfectionist with anxiety to finding her calling through her faith and through following God’s truth about her rather than the lies that the world has told her.
If you would like to book a wellness accountability coaching session with Shan, click here: bit.ly/shanwright or follow her on Instagram at @theshanwright or join her Facebook group here: bit.ly/holistichacks.

In this coaching call, Diane was looking for some help with time management. She came to me looking for strategies to shut out the noise and focus on what matters in every time block and each area of her life.
We worked through what isn’t working for her.  She was distracted and found that she wasn't productive when she had the time to be. She developed a plan that she could take away and implement to help her stay disciplined and focused on the task at hand.
See if you can follow along and practice the strategies offered to Diane to help you keep focused and get things done so that you have more time to do the things that bring you joy.

Today is my birthday and so I am excited to share a little bit more about where I have come from and where I am today. We look at the tools that I have used to make changes in my life and to transform it from one of striving and fluster and not doing anything properly to one of focus and feeing in control of my future, able to keep that work life balance and enjoy my work and my motherhood.
My aim to is to look back on my life when I am near the end of it and have no regrets. I want to look back on a life of joy where I was able to be in the moment, to really engage with what was happening both at work and at home and to have impacted the lives of those closest to me as well as those all around the world!
I am so thrilled that I get to talk to you on my birthday and I hope that this episode inspires you to create a life that you will look back on and know that it was well and happily lived. Find systems that work for you so that you can manage the stress and overwhelm and be organized, focused and productive when you need to be and present and engaged when you want to be!
As a birthday gift, I am offering the first five people to book a Balance and Boundaries coaching session with me this month 50% off.  Go to https://bit.ly/bandbcoaching and book using the code birthday50 to take me up on this offer!

Sometimes we lie in bed and wonder how we could make a change to the relentless rush and hamster wheel of life.  Or at least, I have done that many nights of my life!
And I have found that there is one thing that I can do that can allow me the space and the freedom to slow down and to respond life the way that I want to, living it more intentionally rather than just reacting to whatever next thing gets thrown at me.
I offer this one thing to you today and invite you to try it in your own life in small or larger ways, wherever you can. I would bet on it making a huge difference to how calm you feel, to how you set boundaries and how much time you have as well as many other positive impacts on your life.

Once the children are settled at school and the year is in full swing, we still have to get back into the swing of work if we have been out of it over the holidays.  I found that my work took a bit of a backseat while I was getting everyone ready and into the new school year and now I am back at my desk and need to hit the ground running!
This can sometimes feel like a slog when we have hundreds of emails to reply to or things to catch up on. Or when we have been out of the routine for a while and need to get back into being engaged and productive. We can feel overwhelmed and like we need more time or we won't get it all done.
In this episode, I talk about what we can do to start the year off at work with a bang, settling and being organized, being productive and efficient so that we can close our laptops at the end of the day and do our other job of parenting and spousing (is that a word?!) well.

Connecting with someone is the foundation of any relationship.  If you do not connect with someone, it is hard to keep that relationship going.
In the busy-ness of working and mothering life, there is little time to think about how we connect. Sometimes we do and sometimes we don’t and if we don’t, we don’t often take time to think about why not. This Christmas, I took some time to figure out why I was feeling disconnected from my husband. The realization I had and the conversation we had afterwards helped us make a change in how we approached one another and our roles as parents at home and leaders at work.
On this day before Valentine’s Day, or on any day, you might be feeling head over heels in love with your partner or you might be feeling far away from him and not sure how to bridge that gap.  I hope that this episode will help you do that so that you can be more present in your relationship and in your life.

This is a busy season for working moms. After the holidays, we are flung into back-to-school activities with everything new whether it is a new class or a new school altogether, or just a new year after the festivities of the Christmas holidays!
It can be exhausting and this exhaustion can cause us to be impatient, irritable and generally not the way we want to be.
I followed the three steps I offer in this episode to get myself off the kitchen floor and to find joy in the juggle again, feeling energized and ready to do all the things that I have to and all those things that I love to do. Life felt easier, I had more energy and I didn't feel so overwhelmed and wiped out by the chaos.
I hope that if you follow these three steps, you will be able to start each day off – and end it – feeling on top and in control and excited about the year ahead.
